It’s something that happens to us all as furry friend owners. Our dog goes outside to use the bathroom, and then we call them back inside as if nothing happened. Problem solved, right? It’s like the phrase, out of sight, out of mind. Or we are busy and don’t have time. Except that there are smelly leftovers in the yard, hidden by grass or leaves. As we continue to do this day by day, the poop starts to build up. Eventually, our dog tracks it in the house. Or we do. Once this happens, we go outside and realize that there’s dog poop everywhere, and there’s barely any room for our dog to go. We wonder to ourselves how exactly this happened.

So, why is this important? Moreover, why is it important for our dogs’ health, and even human health? The digestion and anatomy of a dog are very unique and functions a little bit differently. Generally they digest food in a healthy way, getting rid of waste effectively1. But we all know as pet owners that dogs are gross, and eat things they aren’t supposed to, like trash! Once the waste leaves, it’s now a smelly, bacteria-ridden waste pile2. So we must pick up their poop. When a human touches it, there is the risk of bacteria-related illness and even parasites if we don’t wash our hands right away2. This chance increases the more poop there is in the yard.

When there is poop in the yard, your furry friend may want to eat it for various reasons. Not only is this gross, but it is also the sign of another issue. Ensuring the poop is picked up is so they don’t do this, and have longer, happier lives. Additionally, when poop isn’t cleaned up, our furry friend will run out of places to do their business and will start to do their business inside the house. This then causes frustration and anger at the dog, when in fact they have run out of places to use the bathroom outside.

When taking our furry friends out for walks, it is critically important to pick up their poop. Other dogs could smell it and eat it, which could cause issues for them2. Some dogs may be suffering from diseases or some other illness that can spread in dog waste, like parasites2. While these parasites might not be harmful to the dog, it could be if a human didn’t realize they touched it and didn’t wash their hands2. When the poop is cleaned up, it ensures the safety of the human and fellow furry friends 2. The same goes for when furry friends are visiting your yard. When it is cleaned up, it avoids any health issues with both your furry friend and their furry friend2.
Our dogs thrive in a yard to run around. Making sure their poop is picked up ensures their happiness. A clean yard means our dogs are less likely to engage in any harmful behaviors, such as eating their poop and getting parasites and we humans won’t get sick or track poop around our homes2. Nobody likes having poop accidentally come into the house, so making sure that all the poop is cleaned up makes sure that all is well with your dog. The longer you wait for dog poop pick up, the more frustrating it gets. We all have busy lives so this is where a good dog poop pick up service can be quite helpful.

Overall, our dogs can’t provide for themselves, but we can help step up and take care of them. A clean yard can mean all the difference. Sometimes, pet owners aren’t able to take care of this need due to busy lives and that’s okay!
